I created this painting to represent the pain and profound black hole of severe depression I went through at the age of 27 when I found out I had mental health issues. The black crows represent my turbulent thoughts and darkness emanating from my very soul. But I painted the birds escaping away from the storm, fleeing emotional pain, because in the end I was rescued.
“Stay patient. My timing is perfect. I have something bigger planned for you. And trust me, you’re going to love it.”
I suffered for17 years. That's a long time. But I healed in 2013.
Writing down the bones
I'm working on my memoir now when I get time between doing my M.F.A in painting and teaching. Stay tuned for some juicy excerpts! Haha, not really, it reads more like a never ending anecdote - but interesting.
